CLEAR'06 Evaluation and Workshop
- Classification of Events, Activities and Relationships -
The Spring 2006 CLEAR evaluation and workshop is an international effort to evaluate systems that are designed to analyse people, their identities, activities, interactions and relationships in human-human interaction scenarios, as well as related scenarios. CLEAR is meant to bring together projects and researchers working on related technologies in order to establish a common international evaluation campaign in this field. Currently, the CLEAR 2006 evaluation is supported by the European Integrated project CHIL, the US ARDA VACE program and the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
CLEAR welcomes the participation of researchers in the planned evaluation. This evaluation is free of charge.
The tentative tasks to be addressed in CLEAR 2006 will be the following:
These tasks will be conducted on various multimodal data sets collected in lecture and meetings domains, as well as on Broadcast News data. Some sample data can be found here.
The results of these first dry-run evaluations will be presented during the CLEAR 2006 evaluation workshop, to be held on April 6-7, in Southampton, UK. This workshop will be collocated with the 7th IEEE International Conference on Face and Gesture Recognition, FG2006 (April 10-12).
The CLEAR 2006 evaluation and workshop will be organized in conjunction with the NIST RT06 evaluation. CLEAR and RT06 will share some of their evaluation data sets, so that for example the speaker-localization results generated for CLEAR can be used for the far-field speech-to-text task in RT06. The RT06 evaluation workshop will be held the first week of May in the US.
